About Nino Yap Cugtas

Nino was born in Cebu Philippines, and eventually would be raised by his aunt and uncle, he would later call Mama and Papa. His grandmother would be one of the greatest influences of his life, by which the thread of her influence would continuously be seen in this young boy’s life. Her name was Guadalupe and it was these first 7 formative years that Nino would learn the value of unconditional love, the value of hard work, and the value of prayer.

Nino would later move to Michigan, USA and spend the rest of his childhood in the suburbs of Sterling Heights, north of the city of Detroit. It was during these years that he would find struggles in finding his own path as a Filipino

Nino Yap Cugtas is a graduate of Chemical Engineering from the University of San Carlos, in The Philippines. From being on the Dean’s List, to being President of The Chemical Engineering Council, Nino would find his voice early on in his college years. As a leader, as a community organizer, and as a public speaker. Along with excelling in academics, Nino challenged himself to also grow in other aspects such as community work.

Nino would practice in the field of Engineering until faced with a great opportunity by one of his mentors, a fellow Chemical Engineer. It is during these times that he becomes a Financial Professional for New York Life, NYLIFE Securities, and Mainstay Investments.

As a Financial Adviser, he worked with families and business owners to create investment and insurance plans that worked best for their needs while also looking forward at their dreams and goals. Nino’s expertise extended to Estate Planning for higher net worth individuals and businesses that needed solid planning and a good team to navigate the myriad of pitfalls that normally plague such plans.

It was during these days that Nino was also consulting a local Assisted Living Facility that he eventually would come to provide much of his time and focus. Nino saw the need for better management as well as better processes that would contribute to a better overall experience for the residents, the families, as well as the caregivers that provide the much needed care to the residents.

As an Entrepreneur focused in helping many seniors navigate their later stages of their lives, Nino has partnered with medical professionals, senior care advisers, as well as wonderful caregivers to create and manage Senior Communities in Southeast Michigan.

Although, Nino has many interests as an Investor, Entrepreneur, Engineer, and a senior care advocate, the overall thread in his life has been to challenge himself to grow but to also make a difference in the lives of the people he touches.
